Description

FICTA would like to invite you to our AGM on Sunday 17th February in the Bloomfield House Hotel in Mullingar and we would like to extend that to all of your members and in particular this year, as many of  your board members as possible. We have some important and interesting talks in the afternoon:

·         Garda vetting: Elaine Donnelly of the Irish Cranial-Sacral Therapists Association will outline how she and her association went about setting up Garda vetting for their members and how they have incorporated it into the association.

·         Risk assessments, Safety Statements and First Aid: Alana Digan of the Irish Massage Therapists Association (IMTA) will introduce "Risk Assessments and Safety Statements", and explain the reasons for having them. She will outline the very simple steps that all therapists can take to put these in place for themselves.

·         Standards and Quality Assurance: Kieran Shortt, a scientist who has spent many years working in hospital laboratories and studying Quality Assurance in the technical aspects of his work and also the human resources side, will chair an open discussion around determining what standards and procedures are required in our associations, how to set them, how to bring a team together to prioritize tasks and how to quantify the maintenance of those standards and procedures. This should prove to be a helpful discussion and learning opportunity for the board members of our organisations.

Please find enclosed the agenda of this year’s AGM, along with the Minutes of 2018 AGM, and nomination forms for vacant roles on our Executive.

We welcome any help that is offered but we are looking for a Public Relations Officer and a Minutes Secretary to join the executive.

We look forward to seeing as many of you there as possible. Please confirm attendance by email to myself by Thursday 14th February so we can confirm the size of room we will need.

Best regards

Alana Digan
