1. Which Awarding bodies are recognised and which courses qualify for membership ?This applies to all levels of IMTA memberships
2. What if my course/ qualification is not listed?Graduates from unknown training courses (National or International) must meet the IMTA minimum standards and provide supporting documents sourced from the college (Modula descriptors and SLO’s). Additional documents needed from International courses may be requested. This must be verified by the IMTA Education Committee and must meet the IMTA requirements. It is the applicant’s responsibility to provide all relevant documentation. Qualifications must be on a Regulated Qualification Framework (RQF) NFQ/ QQI / OFQUAL academic framework. The IMTA Executive has the final say on all IMTA applications. If an application is unsuccessful the IMTA Executive do not need to give a reason. If the Qualification is obtained outside of Ireland a Comparability Statement from NARIC (minimum Level 5 Ireland) is needed showing where the course aligns to the Irish NFQ / QQI 3. What if the course I did was not in Ireland?If the Qualification is obtained outside of Ireland a Comparability Statementfrom NARIC (minimum Level 5 Ireland) is needed showing where the course aligns to theIrish NFQ / QQI The Qualification needs to be specific to Body Massage Therapy. It is the applicant’s responsibility to provide all relevant documentation requested by the Education / Membership Committees If the Body Massage Modules are linked to another academic course the applicant must provide the title of the Specific Body Massage Modules and the Specific Learning outcomes that are specific to the Body Massage section of their course. All documents is required to be translated and on College headed paper and signed by the College Director They must also provide the number of hours for each module specific to the Body Massage section of their Course. 4. I am already a member of another professional association, does that automatically mean I can become a member?NO. 5. I did a correspondence course online without any Hands on experience, does this qualify me to become a member?NO. Qualifications gained as a result of correspondence / online courses will not be deemed as adequate for IMTA membership approval. 6.
